You are probably reading this because of the media buzz around branding Newsplorer. The latest project dubbed American Red Cross Community Alerts has just have made public and generated a lot of positive feedback in the IT community but most importantly in the PR world. Rob Hrastnik from www.marketingstudies.net goes as far as calling this a New Hope for Branded RSS Readers.

Steve Rubel, the PR authority and author of the popular Micro Persuasion blog saw the project and instantly called for an RSS Appreciation Day recognizing the huge potential of such tool:
Those of us who work in PR and use RSS feeds daily need to take some responsibility in getting everyone else on our teams using a feed reader. RSS is the single most important information tool to land on a PR pro's desktop - or web-top - this decade. I can't think of a single technology since the Web browser that has revolutionized how I keep up to date with my world.


Dr. Robert French from Auburn University, PR and blog guru notes in his blog:
...the branded RSS reader is so cool I'm going to require [my students to] make one as part of their final project

And of course there's Ike Piggot of Positive Position the man behind the American Red Cross Community Alerts project who understood the true potential of RSS and branded news readers.
