Integrating Delicious bookmarking service [ Main ] [ Extensions ] [ Extensions(cont) ]

Starting with version 1.1 Newsplorer introduced the concept of extensions. The goal is to gain access to popular internet services through Newsplorer's interface. We focus on keeping the interface very simple and easy to understand but the content delivered is what matters the most for everyone. This is why we decided that the first extension to Newsplorer should be the popular bookmarking service del.icio.us. The idea is very simple: instead of bookmarking the links locally in your browser you can post them to del.icio.us. Links are categorized by the tags one attaches to the links. (more on the service here).
So how Newsplorer fits into this concept? All headlines that roll onto the main interface are just internet links. Once a headline catches your attention you can follow the link to read the the full story. Now you'll be able to post the link to your del.icio.us account and access it at any time.
This way you won't loose important content that you want to browse later. Imagine that you may not have time to read the full story and you need an easy way to access it in the evening or over the weekend. Save the link then navigate to your del.icio.us account at any time and find the link there. Another important feature is tagging which is associating a meaningful name to the link. For instance a link from NASA's RSS feeds most likely will be associated with a tag called “space” “astronomy” or “science”. A tag can only be one word. You can also choose to omit any tagging.
Steps to enable the del.icio.us extension :
Short description:
Configuration->Extensions and enable your del.icio.us account. Start posting links by right-clicking either the pop-up tray dialog when a new headline shows or a headline in the main dialog. The bookmarking interface resembles the del.icio.us web interface in order to make the experience seamless.
